MIDA STRIVES FOR THE GOAL OF REDUCING CARBON EMISSIONS

In the context of climate change being a global challenge, reducing CO2 emissions is an inevitable trend and plays an extremely important role for businesses, contributing to the development of a circular economy and environmental protection.

In 2021, MIDA participated in the Zero Carbon Project (TZCP) initiated by strategic customer Schneider Electric, with the goal of minimizing environmental impact by reducing CO2 emissions in business operations.

To achieve the above goal, MIDA has applied innovations and applied science and technology.

I. Transformation of energy-using technology:

  • Conversion from diesel-powered plastic injection molding machines to electric-powered plastic injection molding machines
  • Conversion of lighting from compact to LED for workshops and office building areas

  • Use of air-conditioning systems with inverter technology to save energy
  • Conversion of diesel-powered forklifts to electric forklifts
  • Conversion of cooling towers to central cooling (frigel)
  • Use of compressed air systems with inverters.

II. Optimize energy use:

  • Use PME energy management system from Schneider Electric to optimally control energy-using devices
  • Continue to research and improve to optimize existing energy-using systems.

III. Combining the use of green energy and the use of recycled materials:

  • MIDA is investing in a rooftop solar system, expected to be put into use by the end of 2025
  • Production activities using recycled materials

IV. Offset emissions with emission reduction credits from green energy projects:

  • In the first 6 months of 2025, MIDA purchased 1050 credits, offsetting 1,050,000 MWH of electricity consumed. It is expected that in the last 6 months of 2025, MIDA will continue to purchase 1550 credits.
  • With the above efforts, it is expected that in the first 6 months of 2025, MIDA will eliminate 90 tons of CO2 with an emission reduction of 60.1% compared to 2015. And it is expected that by the end of 2025, MIDA will maintain this emission target.

MIDA has been constantly striving to innovate to reduce CO2 emissions and aim to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 in order to contribute to building a sustainable green economy and protecting the environment.
